I hacked my program file on Saturday so that I'd be able to use Final Cut again, and since then I've been in the midst of working frantically to recontextualize narratives and try not to freak out overly much. However while my enthusiasm for it on Saturday probably helped power the entire coast, I got far enough into it that I started running into ideological balance issues and narrative congruity and unfortunately now I have to access my brain and make sure I'm saying what I definitely want to say. Too bad the ending of S5 is extremely frustrating in delivering a lot of the stuff I wanted delivered. But that's okay, because screw you I will take the text and run with it.

That being said, barring any fits of creative rage I have most of the structure worked out and the dramatis personae are all making their appearances, most of the music marked off and a general theme going on.

When the waveforms aren't cooperating or I don't quite have the right set of frames for a clip, at least I have Castiel's stupid mug to stare at. While he's staring back. Creeper.

What the hell is all this about Dean!girls versus Sam!girls versus Cas!girls? I mean, they mentioned it in The Monster at the End of This Book but seriously? Seriously? We have to do this? It's not enough to have ship wars we have partition fandom further by having character wars? Screw that!

I DECLARE FOR TEAM GABRIEL. He refuses to choose sides when it comes to teams he loves equally. (Though I do have faith that he's gonna come through for me and pick my team ♥)

On a less facetious note, whatever you do, however you watch a television it's your choice and your life etc. But I personally can't see how that would be fun because you're perpetually getting defensive or angry on a character's behalf or crowing against a character you don't like and it's just. Is it such a crime to love and sympathize with everyone? Because in my experience only loving one half (or one third) of a team is much more frustrating and disappointing.

I am much much more for the team dynamic. Of them kicking ass together and sacrificing themselves for each other and saving each other and yelling at each other when they're wrong or they left their stinky socks in the sink. I could write odes and odes about this.

short tl;drs about how awesome everyone is )

These guys, even though they're fictional, make me believe in heroes. And I'm supposed to just pick one? Yeah no, I don't think so. I don't want to. They are all also extremely good-looking. This isn't even touching the (somewhat) more minor but nevertheless insanely great characters that I want to hang out with all the time. Or the antagonists that terrify me but have fantastic panache. So drawing all these lines in the sand is insane and weird to me when there's plenty of room for everything. I just can't get behind the mentality. Gosh. I ♥ everyone.

The fanfic, in its complete text:

Sam shivered as he leaned against the splintered wooden wall of the barn. His shoulder ached from the fight with the demon-spawn Mar-Delok and his clothes were soaked from the cold rain which fell outside. He let the knife fall into the dust and turned to his brother.

Dean was shaken up. His chest was heaving with exertion and his shredded shirt was barely clinging to his muscular frame. Sam could see he was hurt.

"Hey. Are you ok?" Sam stepped closer and put his arms around Dean. "We're going to get out of this, they can't keep us here long."

The brothers huddled together in the dark as the sound of the rain drumming on the roof eased their fears of pursuit. Despite the cold outside and the demons who, even now, must be approaching, the warmth of their embrace comforted them.

And then Sam caressed Dean's clavicle.

"This is wrong," said Dean.

"Then I don't want to be right." replied Sam, in a husky voice.

A) SERA GAMBLE COPIED AND PASTED IT FROM HER WIPS FOLDER.
B) THE WRITERS SAT DOWN AND WROTE IT AS A GROUP.
C) FANGIRLS HAVE INFILTRATED VIA THE SET PRODUCTION TEAM.

I can't figure out which option is the most awesome/horrifying.

5x01 spoilers )

I had more thoughts about 5x01, but they dissolved into flailing and freaking out and yelling "SAAAAM!"
affablyevil: (let's see that smile!)
"To love thou blam'st me not, for love thou say'st
leads up to heaven, is both the way and the guide;
Bear with me then, if lawful what I ask;
Love not the heavenly spirits, and how their love
express they, by looks only, or do they mix
irradiance, virtual or immediate touch?"

To whom the angel with a smile that glowed
celestial rosy red, love's proper hue,
answered. "Let it suffice thee that thou know'st u
s happy, and without love no happiness.
Whatever pure thou in body enjoy'st
(and pure thou wert created) we enjoy
in eminence, and obstacle find none
of membrane, joint, or limb, exclusive bars:
easier than air mix with air, if spirits embrace,
total they mix, union of pure with pure
desiring; nor restrained conveyance need
as flesh to mix with flesh, or soul with soul."

- Adam and Raphael, viii. 612, Paradise Lost

Hur hur hur. Angelsex.

in other events, a discussion about Castiel's fighting abilities...
"I ALWAYS FIGURED CASTIEL WAS LIKE THAT CHARACTER IN VIDEO GAMES THAT YOU THINK IS USELESS BUT YOU KNOW THAT AFTER LEVELING HIM UP HE BECOMES, LIKE, THE BEST CHARACTER EVAR.

SINCE HE WILL GET HIS ASS HANDED TO HIM MANY A TIME IN THE PROCESS, YOU DON'T PUT HIM INTO BATTLE VERY MUCH, JUST ENOUGH TO GET BEAT UP A BIT AND GAIN THE EXPERIENCE POINTS.

BASICALLY, CASTIEL = MAGIKARP.

...HE'LL EVOLVE INTO GYARADOS EVENTUALLY."

CASTIEL USES FLAIL.

.... IT'S NOT VERY EFFECTIVE.
